B.Pharm is Equivalent to M.Sc !

For all those who are are pursuing pharmacy, here seems some god news to share. It was always in doubt whether four year course like B.tech/B.E/B.Pharm are equivalent to MSc or not. In a recent advancement   B.Pharm is now equated to M.Sc by CSIR-UGC and the students with Bachelor in Pharmacy can appear & qualify UGC_CSIR NET examination without going for M.Pharm. Those who qualified NET can join PhD in any CSIR lab like CDRI, NBRI, IITR, CIMAP, IHBT, IICT, IICB etc or from any university. for more detail visit TO given link and download the revised eligibility criteria for CSIR UGC NET. Well, government not issued any separate notification about same except UGC Cair net notification.

    However the eligibility may not serve the purpose. Even M.Pharm graduates can not crack CSIR UGC because of syllabus which the pharmacy students had never seen.... CSIR should create another test pattern for pharmacy graduates...

    can a b pharm student give the csir net in chemistry, and take admission in cdri for PhD in pharmacology, does this scholarship is applicable even i take admission in the M pharmacy, on the bases of csir net, as for NIPER its either GPAT/CSIR NET, required for NIPER JEE

      after B.Pharm , u can apply for Jrf NET, and can apply as jrf in cdri..but for direct PhD , U have to enroll in Integrated PhD Programme.

      There is no seperate syllabus for pharmacy students in CSIR-UGC, based on your interest you can opt for CSIR-UGC Biology or CSIR-UGC Chemistry

    Sir,
    I am pursuing M.Pharm in pharmacology and GPAT 2011 qualified. Our viva for the final year is going to be conducted in September/October.
    Can I apply for PHD at JNU through their entrance examination ? They have mentioned their eligibility criteria as M.SC or equivalent. Will my B.Pharm will be equivalent to M.Sc in this situation and will I be able to join before my M.Pharm results are announced that is by august?

      Forensic science is conducted by ugc and not by csir. So taking forensic science is a waste. And if u r hell interested in ph.d in forensic pharmacy from Gujarat forensic science university then only one can go for ugc net exam in forensic sciences....if u don't believe on me...den beeter u urself Google it.....rather forensic science is a waste idea.....evry1 understud kya.....?

      B.Pharm. is always = B.Pharm. it cannot be treated as a substitute anywer......otherwise all medical stores will be run by bsc microbio wale and biotech wale.....pharmacy wala makkhi marega....respect ur profession to get value in market.....undstud kya....?

      See all guys....there is nothing such equivalency .....rather its an initiative of ugc to promote research right after undergraduate level on the basis of talent.....by csir .....very few b.tech/MBBS/b.pharm crack csir-ugc-net. Almost few student from b.tech crack csir ugc net and almost zero candidate from b.pharm., MBBS and b.v.SC wale those who clear this exam.....see data from ugc website if u don't believe on me.....undstud kya....?
